What each app costs

At 100 users the category leaders ask $292 and $359 a month. FastPoker asks $45 — about an eighth — and SprintPoker and Async Poker sit in between at $84 and $85 with two of the best ratings on the Marketplace. That middle band is genuinely good value and we would rather point at it than pretend otherwise.

Read the 2,000-user column too, because it does not flatter us: Async Poker ($507.50) and SprintPoker ($617) are both cheaper than FastPoker ($632) at that size. Their curves flatten harder than ours at the top end. We undercut everything in the middle of the range and lose at the top of it.

Why estimation apps feel overpriced

Because they are licensed for your whole site. A planning poker session has five to nine people in it; a 2,000-user Jira site might run four teams that estimate. Atlassian bills the app across all 2,000 seats regardless, which is why Agile Poker costs a 25-user team $89.75 a month and a 2,000-user organisation $1,589 for exactly the same Thursday-morning ritual.

That is a platform rule, not a vendor choice — there is no way to license a Cloud app to a subset of users. What a vendor can choose is how steeply the curve climbs, and the reason a cottage industry of free planning-poker websites exists is that many teams looked at the top of that curve and decided to keep their estimates outside Jira instead. Every one of those sessions ends with somebody retyping numbers into Jira by hand.

Which one to shortlist

• Distributed team, estimation happens over a day not a meeting: Async Poker or SprintPoker. Async-first is their design centre and both are superbly reviewed.
• You want the most established option and budget is not the constraint: Planning Poker ® or Agile Poker. Thousands of installs and years of refinement.
• Live session, real backlog, estimate written straight to the story-point field, at a price nobody has to escalate: FastPoker.

Whichever you pick, check that it writes the agreed estimate to your own story-point field rather than storing it in the app. FastPoker picks the issue from your real backlog, everyone votes in secret, you reveal together, and accepting the estimate writes it to the Jira field — so the number is in Jira's history, in your reports and in your velocity, and it stays there if the app is uninstalled.

If your admins have to approve it

A recurring version of this question on the Atlassian Community is not "which is best" but "which one will my IT department let me install". If that is your situation, the relevant fact is architectural rather than functional.

FastPoker runs entirely on Atlassian Forge with no egress permissions declared: no outbound domain, no inbound endpoint, no vendor-side database. It qualifies for Atlassian's Runs on Atlassian programme, which the platform grants rather than the vendor claims — if any code ran outside Forge the badge would not be there. For a reviewer that usually replaces a questionnaire with a check of the listing. It also stores no display names or email addresses: votes are keyed to account IDs, and closing a session deletes every row.

Several other apps in this table are Forge apps too, and the badge is on each listing. What it rules out is the free external websites — those are exactly the data-egress case an admin is worried about.

What the other apps do better than FastPoker

• They are cheaper than us on a very large site — Async Poker and SprintPoker both come in under FastPoker at 2,000 users; see the table above.
• They have reviews and we do not. SprintPoker at 4.95★ and Async Poker at 4.92★ have earned something FastPoker has not. If ratings are how you choose, choose one of those and you will not be disappointed.
• Asynchronous estimation. FastPoker is built for a live session where everyone is present. If your team estimates across time zones over a day, the async-first apps are a better fit.
• Ceremony breadth. Some of these bundle retrospectives, daily standups and other rituals. FastPoker estimates and nothing else.
• Data Center. Agile Poker has Server and Data Center builds. FastPoker is a Forge app, so Cloud only.
• We hold no security certification. No SOC 2, no ISO 27001, no independent penetration test — our security page says so plainly.

How these numbers were produced

Every price here was read from /rest/2/addons/{key}/pricing/cloud/live — the public endpoint the Marketplace renders its own pricing from — by a script kept in this site's repository, so no competitor's price list is ever retyped from a screenshot. Totals assume commercial licences, monthly billing, and that every user on the site is charged above the free tier, which is how Atlassian bills.
